During the next decade, I’d like to learn as much as I can. I aim to head into an investigative role, learning from experienced colleagues and join CID in the next few years.

What did you do before the police?

Before joining Essex Police I was a student and I worked at Tesco.

Why did you join Essex Police?

I joined the police because it’s something I’ve always been interested in doing as I love helping people. After finishing my year at university, I decided to take the plunge and haven’t looked back since!

What do you hope to achieve at Essex Police in 2020?

In 2020, I hope to work on my career at Essex Police, whilst helping people and being able to assist people in things that have a huge impact on them and their family/friends.

Which area of the county are you going to be serving?

I’m going to be serving in North Essex.

What have you enjoyed about your training?

I’ve enjoyed so many aspects of my training. Some key parts being the people I met. I also enjoyed learning basic first aid and having practices in class of how to reach out to victims and witnesses to work with them to gain a positive outcome.

What’s been your most memorable moment?

Most memorable moment would have to be when we were CS gassed. Part of the week of defensive skills included us being gassed which allowed us to understand the full extent of harm we could cause a person so we would think carefully before using it.

What advice would you give to anyone thinking of becoming a police officer?

I’d advise anyone thinking of applying to go for it. You definitely won’t regret it!
