I am part of the Local Policing Team, I respond to 999 calls and proactively police the community of Colchester.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I really enjoy meeting people and hearing their stories, helping people when they are at their lowest and need our help.
Why is diversity and inclusion so important in and outside of the workplace?
It is so important as police that we reflect the community that we serve, diversity is something to be proud of!
Were there any barriers to joining Essex Police?
There were no barriers for me in joining Essex Police, I have been made very welcome, I have taken part in lots of opportunities, and I have made friends for life!
Why do you think it’s so important that our force values difference?
Diversity is something to celebrate, we should be proud of what makes us different, and celebrate what makes us different, it’s important we value difference as we have such a diverse community throughout Essex, something I find very exciting.
How has Essex Police as an organisation supported you in your career?
They have supported extra training, identified and supported my strengths and weaknesses, there is always something to look forward to!
Tell us something interesting about your role?
I get to meet people from all over the world, no day is the same, there is constant stimulation and its certainly never boring!
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about joining Essex Police?
The door is open to everyone, and we welcome everyone with the right values! If you want a rewarding job that will never leave you bored, if you want to work for an organisation that will support you and give you options all the way, then just apply and see what happens!
