If you're interested in joining our team, we host a range of events across the county where you can find out more. Whether it's speaking to a serving police officer, detective or special constable. Or finding out about the application process - we're here to give you the information you need.
Our recruitment team also offer workshops to support those going through the application process too.

Encounter Essex workshops
Our Encounter Essex online workshops are a great way to find out more if you're looking to start your journey into policing.
You'll learn about the recruitment process and how to submit a successful application. We'll discuss the reality of policing, the different careers paths available and the benefits of joining Essex Police.
Our recruitment team, which includes serving police officers, will be on hand to answer your questions and offer advice.
If you'd like to attend, you need to book your place on one of our events. Once you're booking is received, we will send you more information about the event.
As these workshops are held online, you will need access to an active email address and a mobile phone or computer device.

Special Constable information events
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer police officer with Essex Police? If you are, then join us for one of our in-person or online information events.
We'll tell you about what's involved in being a Special Constable. And we'll let you know about the different roles available and how the recruitment process works. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and speak to some of the Special Constabulary team too.

Interview workshops
For those who have applied to join us as a police constable, special constable or under the Investigate First process, we offer an online workshop to those awaiting their interview.
Important information
Essex Police will not send confirmation of this application. However, you will be sent a link, via email, on the morning of the event enabling you to join your chosen workshop.
The details that you submit will be kept by Essex Police for two years. After this time they will be deleted from our records.
If you wish for your details to be deleted earlier, please email with the date and time of the workshop you attended and your details will be deleted.
Please check back if these dates are not suitable as further dates will be added.
