Main purpose of the role:
Assist the Project team with the implementation of change across the 7 Forces, by engaging with stakeholders at all levels to capture requirements, map and analyse processes, establish improvements, re- engineering of business process, flag risks and issues and identify benefits. Manage allocated 7F Programme support staff as required and assist with the scoping and delivery of projects against benefit related requirements.
Assist with the scoping and planning of projects, in line with Project Management Methodology, using effective project management techniques, monitoring and chasing progress and participating in post project review, so as to achieve the successful realisation of projects and business benefits.
Undertake complex analysis and evaluation, using a wide range of data, from across the 7 Forces, presenting the results and recommendations of the analysis to the business, the senior leadership team and senior business stakeholders in the most suitable format.
Deliver a portfolio of products, producing ad hoc packages as required, developing and enhancing their effectiveness and efficiency, attending meetings relevant to areas of work and/or expertise, providing advice, progress reports or updates as necessary, ensuring they are revised to meet the demands of the project/programme and continue to provide reliable analysis that supports operational decision making.
Review and assess the feasibility of requests, identifying the specific requirements of each, negotiating time scales, highlighting existing packages which may meet the identified need, assessing any short to mid- term implications, and determining what the final product will look like, in order to address the needs of the user.
Maintain effective financial, project forecasting and progress reports as appropriate, monitoring associated revenue costs and all capital costs against the project budget, receiving and processing project- related invoices, identifying over and under-spend against committed expenditure, escalating as appropriate and ensuring that project spend remains within approved budgetary limits.
Provide expert advice and guidance to business managers and the 7F team in respect of data availability, accessibility and integrity, the use of various analytical techniques and standard products and information, in order to assist with the selection of information to enable decision making within the Force.
Maintain, revise and develop standard /routine packages of data, assessing and revising data collection methods, adapting software and presentation formats as required, in order to continue to provide information which meets the programme/project requirements. Ensure all documentation is maintained throughout the life of the project, and information is collated for reporting purposes
Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders across the 7 Forces, and local analytical teams acting as a conduit for identifying, discussing and sharing good practice, in order to ensure consistent high quality standards are achieved.
Degree level education in a relevant field or previous experience of preparation of performance and management information reports at a senior level within an organisation.
Proven ability to use a wide range of computer systems, databases, extract tools and spread sheet packages including analysis and interpretation of complex data.
Good understanding of business processes and user requirements, with expertise in mapping processes.
Ability to analyse large quantities of data and prepare papers and reports and deliver presentations to senior officers and managers.
Must be highly motivated, innovative and flexible with excellent time management skills.
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and concisely at all levels.
Ability to work in a team.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision even when under pressure.
