Main purpose of the role:
Undertake sick pay administration and associated H & S administration in relation to accident reporting.
Provide a high level of customer service to both internal and external customers.
Inputs and extracts data/information into various Essex Police systems, producing reports where necessary.
Support all activities of the Business Centre as required.
Administration of HR processes including pensions and payroll changes.
Health and Safety.
Provides training to staff on the use of the HR system for Health and Safety matters.
Co-ordinates a range of Health and Safety functions, such as working time monitoring, mandatory training, etc, to ensure force compliance with legislation.
nputs incident forms on the relevant system and extracts information in a presentable format when required.
Support the Health and Safety Advisors and Manager in administrative tasks when required.
Support Health Services in the administration of sickness statistics and absence related administrative tasks. this will include the administration of ill-health retirement cases and supporting the sickness team.

Checks and codes invoices and claims for payment, ensuring appropriate authorisation is evident and financial regulations are complied with before claims are processed. Management of Police Information (MOPI) (Level 4)
Full compliance with Level 3. Has successfully completed all standard relevant Information Management and Security training package(s). Accurate use of Government Security Classification (GSC). Ensures physical and digital records are stored with appropriate security relevant to the sensitivity of the documents and has working understanding of appropriate National Retention Schedules. Is able to quality assure own records management processes as well as those of any staff for whom they have supervisory responsibility. Is aware of where to seek further support in relation to Records management within force when necessary. If nominated as an Information Asset Assistant is familiar with the NPCC Information Asset Owners Handbook.
Occupational Health (Level 3)
Possesses a sound working knowledge of Occupational Health issues, including working practices and current sources of advice and training. Is able to meet and advise staff individually for routine examinations, tests and health checks, and produce professional reports for monitoring purposes and detailed consideration by the OH physician. Likely to hold a professional qualification in an occupational health related discipline.
Office Organisation (Level 4)
Fully conversant with organising an office and able to develop working practices which impact on productivity. Able to adapt and innovate so that the office environment contributes to increased efficiency and effectiveness. Can plan and control office activities to meet objectives. Office Technology (Level 3)
Able to utilise relevant Force standard office software products such as word- processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation and desktop publishing packages to a standard that matches the requirements of the current role in terms of quality and speed. Can operate other items of essential office technology such as photocopiers, facsimile machines, answerphones, shredders, in order to effectively undertake the requirements of the current role. Aware of the implications of Data Protection and acts appropriately in this respect.
Risk Management (Level 3)
Demonstrates an awareness of personal risk management issues, challenges or difficulties likely to affect the post holder in the execution of their duties. Able to anticipate risks likely to affect their work and knows how to communicate the likelihood and possible impacts of such events to line managers or supervisors.
