The post holder will hold up to date operational policing experience or relevant legislative experience and either possess a Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent, or be prepared to undertake a PTRLDP course to obtain the AET qualification.
The post holder must be organised and confident with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, this will be combined with the ability to debrief course attendees, both verbally and in writing, to enable them to develop to their full potential. An attention to detail and high levels of concentration are also essential.
Significant personal motivation and drive is essential in order to achieve demonstrable results if the role is to be successful and the post holder will be expected to support and contribute towards business planning processes.
The Trainer will have a basic understanding of the role/subject area and will be working towards:
Completing and passing the PTRLDP initial Trainer course attaining the qualification of an Award in Education and Training (AET)
An assessors qualification as required for role
Progression criteria, delivering training through support and mentoring of colleagues. All trainers will be expected to deliver all the core subject areas.
The Trainer will be signed off competent to achieve SO1 once they have completed and passed the recognised Police trainer qualifications (AET) and reached competent to deliver independently against specific core programmes evidenced through the PDR.
