Main purpose of the role:
Conduct proactive investigations into County Line Offenders who have been identified as having benefited financially from criminal conduct and are involved in laundering the proceeds of serious and organised crime, ensuring that the best possible evidence is secured and that cases are fully and efficiently investigated in order to bring offenders to justice.
Maintain close links with Divisional SVU Raptor SPOCS, utilising the benefits of a strong relationship, to raise levels of awareness and maximise operational opportunities to recover the proceeds of crime, in order to support the Kent Police Asset Recovery Strategy.
Assist and impart information to Raptor / SVU officers giving advice and support where necessary, in order to assist with the investigation of cases.
Utilise money laundering legislation to prevent and detect offences, incapacitate those engaged in acquisitive crime and the criminal supply/ distribution of classified drugs.
Collate, analyse and assess information, determining the best lines of enquiry, securing the best evidence through thorough investigation and effective management of all available resources and working to an agreed case investigation plan. Where all useful lines of enquiry have been explored, make a clear recommendation as to the appropriate disposal option.
Submit complete and correctly compiled case papers maintaining high professional standards, within set time limits, ensuring evidential integrity is maintained at all times.
Maintain an up-to-date awareness of trends and intelligence relating to offences and offenders who feature as the department's current priorities.
Maintain liaison with internal departments and external agencies building effective working relationships in order to ensure the greatest assistance is available for identifying, tracing and investigating subjects.

Crime Investigation (Level 4)

Drugs (Level 4)
Has detailed knowledge of all types of drugs and paraphernalia used to administer and manufacture illegal substances. Has specialist knowledge of drugs related offences, relevant legislation, the evidence required to support further investigation and draws upon the support and assistance of other experienced officers and interested agencies. Regularly and effectively participates in operations which tackle the investigation of drug related crime. Aware of drugs profit confiscation legislation and basic informant handling procedures.
Financial Investigation (Level 5)
Has a well developed knowledge of financial transactions and institutions, understanding the relevant processes, practices, relationships and obligations under legislation. Applies this knowledge when conducting investigations to provide for an effective and efficient process.
Health and Safety (Level 3)

Management of Police Information (MOPI) (Level 4)
Full compliance with Level 3. Has successfully completed all standard relevant Information Management and Security training package(s). Accurate use of Government Security Classification (GSC). Ensures physical and digital records are stored with appropriate security relevant to the sensitivity of the documents and has working understanding of appropriate National Retention Schedules. Is able to quality assure own records management processes as well as those of any staff for whom they have supervisory responsibility. Is aware of where to seek further support in relation to Records management within force when necessary. If nominated as an Information Asset Assistant is familiar with the NPCC Information Asset Owners Handbook.
Proactive Crime Investigation (Level 3)
Able to identify offences that are suitable to proactive investigation techniques. Has an awareness of other agencies and the assistance they can give to progress the options available. Plans and prepares appropriate actions. Able to investigate basic intelligence information gained and translate it into a proactive plan.
Risk Management (Level 3)
Demonstrates an awareness of personal risk management issues, challenges or difficulties likely to affect the post holder in the execution of their duties. Able to anticipate risks likely to affect their work and knows how to communicate the likelihood and possible impacts of such events to line managers or supervisors.
Search (Level 3)
Has a basic level of search awareness and/or exhibits the skills gained on a search awareness course. Understands the principals of stop and search and their application. Able to deal with associated paperwork, handling of exhibits and gathering of evidence. Has a good working knowledge of PACE powers and warrants and application of the same.
Surveillance - Equipment (Level 4)
Has a basic understanding of what surveillance equipment is available and is able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of the equipment that they have used. And have a good working knowledge for the acquisition and use of CCTV both in relation to police operations and in public and private systems, and demonstrates the ability to use these in practical situations.

Able to present and convey ideas and new/ revised procedures, on a one to one or group basis, to a logical and well structured plan. Aware of a variety of training techniques, tools and principles.
