Supervise a team of officers and provide guidance and support to multi agency partners in order to keep people who are involved in Gangs, County Lines and Serious Violence (Primary Cohort) safe, alongside the already embedded OP Raptor Safeguarding officers. This team will link professionals from all relevant agencies, allowing them to work effectively to ensure the risk to the individual is being managed by the most appropriate agency, to avoid duplication and ensure everyone is clear as to their responsibilities.
Adopt longer term safeguarding of all individuals engaged by Op Raptor activity (Primary Cohort) in liaison with multi agency colleagues.
Liaise with Op Raptor Safeguarding Officers to ensure continuity of safeguarding approach.
Adopt longer term problem solving / public health approach to safeguarding of individuals in Primary Cohort, involving prevention, education, diversion and intervention techniques, mindful of criminogenic needs.
Track Primary Cohort and encourage relevant officer/staff member from most appropriate agency take positive action including ensuring appropriate officer/staff attendance at multi-agency safeguarding meetings (MACE, Strategy Meetings, Professionals Meetings).
Mitigate the effects of pro-active policing and partnership activity, planning for the safe return to normality following proactive operations in close liaison with Op Raptor teams.
Manage the risk posed to cross border offenders and victims, ensuring sufficient intelligence is imparted to, and appropriate safeguarding actions are taken by Police and partners from the individuals home force area.
Management of MAPPA individuals with links to Gangs and County Lines, managing the risk they might pose whilst adopting a long term problem solving / public health approach to safeguarding of MAPPA individuals, involving prevention, education, diversion and intervention techniques, mindful of criminogenic needs.
Highlight potential instances of Modern Day Slavery and Human Trafficking, Co-ercion and exploitation where not immediately obvious.
The supervisor will also work with their team to adopt longer term problem solving / public health approaches to safeguarding of individuals in Primary Cohort, involving prevention, education, diversion and intervention techniques, mindful of criminogenic needs. Working across the whole of Essex (Southend, Essex and Thurrock) this unique supervisor role will also ensure the team make good links with teams from outside Essex, as County Lines does not respect boundaries but it is vital we keep each and every individual safe.
