A man has been arrested during a raid by officers from Braintree Neighbourhood Policing Team investigating the supply of drugs in the Witham area.
The 26-year-old was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and Class B drugs and of administering a noxious substance, following the execution of a drugs warrant today, 26 August, in Allectus Way, Witham.
During a search of the property, our neighbourhood policing officers recovered quantities of what is suspected to be cocaine and cannabis and a large sum of cash. They also seized several mobile phones.
The man has been released on bail until 29 October 2025 for offences relating to administering a noxious substance.
He has been released under investigation in relation to the drug supply offences.
Our investigation continues.
PC Aris Sahin says:
“Drugs are associated with violence and other serious crimes. They cause untold harm in our neighbourhoods, especially to people who are quite vulnerable.
“We are tackling these crimes but we need information from the public to help us gather the intelligence required to apply for and execute warrants.
“So please tell us what you know about criminal activity and anti-social behaviour in your area. Car number plates, names, CCTV and doorbell images are particularly helpful but any information related to crime and criminal activity may be useful to us.
“Please don’t assume we already know.”
