A man has been arrested as part of our investigation into reports of exposure incidents in the Stansted and Elsenham areas.
We have received reports of a man exposing himself while sat inside a small red vehicle in different locations.
Two confirmed incidents have taken place:
On Saturday 31 May 2026, a 30-year-old British man was arrested on suspicion of exposure in connection with these incidents. He has since been released on bail with conditions not to attend the locations concerned.
Officers believe the same individual could be linked to other similar incidents in the wider area dating back to summer 2025.
As part of our enquiries, we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed similar behaviour, or who may have been affected but has not yet reported it. We are also asking anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell footage or dash cam recordings to come forward.
Sergeant Matthew Green said:
“We understand the concern incidents of this nature can cause and we are carrying out regular patrols in the area to provide reassurance and support the community.
“If you have any information, please contact the Uttlesford Neighbourhood Policing Team, quoting the relevant reference number.”

Alternatively, you can submit a report online or speak to an officer via 101.
