We are taking steps across the Basildon district to tackle the unsafe and illegal use of e-scooters and off-road motorbikes.
Residents have raised concerns about vehicles being ridden in pedestrian areas, and open spaces, putting people at risk.
We are working with a focus to reducing this issue in our open spaces, with a focus on Cranfield Park and the High Steet in Wickford.
Our Neighbourhood Policing Teams are carrying out regular patrols and acting where offences are identified.
Where appropriate, vehicles are being seized using Section 59 and Section 165 powers and those involved are being dealt with.
Our aim is to reduce risk, prevent harm and keep public spaces safe for everyone.
This remains in our priority and is in progress.

We are working to reduce anti-social behaviour and associated crime in Wickford.

Following reports from residents of damage to cars and harm to wildlife linked to catapult use, we have been taking action, and this is something we intend to continue.
In response, we are using both high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols to identify and deal with those involved, focusing on the High Street, Cranfield Park Road, and the BP garage.
Officers are targeting repeat offenders and working with local partners to address the wider issues affecting the area.
We understand the impact this has had and are committed to tackling it.
