In areas where violent crime has been reported, our officers are increasing patrols to prevent incidents and respond quickly when needed. This includes addressing issues linked to the night-time economy, such as those occurring in bars, clubs, and busy public spaces.

Although anti-social behaviour (ASB) is decreasing, it remains a key concern for residents in the Maldon district.
Issued 05 May 2026
Anti-social behaviour (ASB) can have a serious impact on community life, causing fear, anxiety, and isolation, affecting mental health and disrupting daily routines. Our Neighbourhood Policing Team works closely with partners, including Maldon District Council, to address ASB in all its forms.
We focus on identifying emerging trends and sharing practical advice with residents to help protect them from its effects and ensure they know how best to report incidents. By working together with our partners and the community, we aim to reduce ASB and create safer, stronger neighbourhoods for everyone.

Local residents have told us that speeding and anti-social driving remain key concerns in the community. This is entirely understandable, especially given the disproportionately high number of serious and fatal collisions that have occurred in the district.
Issued 05 May 2026
We have carried out speed checks in areas where residents have raised concerns about fast drivers. These checks not only help us identify and deal with those who are speeding, but they also serve as an important reminder for all motorists to consider how they drive. By encouraging safer driving habits, we aim to make our roads safer for everyone.
Through partnership work, education, enforcement, and community engagement, we strive to reduce speeding and prevent accidents in, ensuring that everyone can travel safely across the Maldon district.
